hi, I just updated my K750i via the Sony Ericsson software thing, and it killed my phone. I called the SE here in US, they said they need me to fax a proof of purchase of the phone because the phone is not meant to be released in the US and after they verified that, they'll contact me with an option of what I can do! argh. I bet they're going to make me pay or will have me ship the phone then ship it back to me with a note "sorry we can't do anything since the phone is not meant to be released in the US". sigh... well, the last thing I mentioned happened to me when my Moto E398 went dead, it's only 3 days old.

-------------------------
edit:

I think I don't explain myself clearly. I did everything that I know of before updating the phone.
- downloaded and installed the appropriate driver for the phone (k750i driver) from SE's website.
- downloaded and installed the latest version of MyPhoneExplorer (version 1.6.1) and made backup of the content of the phone.
- downloaded and installed the latest SE update software (version 2.7.6.8-1)
- let the software download stuff
- did exactly as the software tells me to do (remove battery, put it back on, pressing C, hold C while plugging USB cable back to phone)
- the update goes on until it hits 100%, then the software flickers back to start (where you can choose start or exit) and the phone stays off.
- I choose start again to make sure that the phone is updated, and the software came back with "no software update found"
- I choose exit and close the software, remove the USB cable from the phone, put the battery cover back on.
- THEN I CAN'T TURN ON THE PHONE! nothing happen when I press the start button on top of the phone!

what did I do wrong?

now I've downloaded the Wotanserver thingy, and KulaKendi (spell?) thingy. both recognizes my phone. doesn't mentioned any error though. the KulaKendi thing says this:
***************************************************
Hold 'C' or '@' (some PDA) key and plug DCU60 USB cable.
Phone Connected...
Detected: DB2010: K510/K750/D750/W800/W810/W550/Z520/Z530 Series
Phone IMEI: TOP-SECRET-DO-NOT-PEEK!
Error: Unsupported CID (36) Version!
Contact With Reseller.
***************************************************

here's the Wotanserver thing says:
***************************************************
DB2010 detected
LOADER: OK
FC ID: 20 0D
EROM: RED CID36
OTP: RED CID36
OTP: IMEI: TOP-SECRET-DO-NOT-PEEK
GDFS: phone not recognized
select manually if supported and press "Continue".
***************************************************
so I choose K750/D750 and clicked on Continue then it says "Now you can choose Main and Filesystem files, and alter other settings".

that is as far as I can comprehend. I don't want to risk to permanently damaging the phone. what is this CDA that I have to select? do I have to put anymore checkmark on those other options available?

I tried connecting the phone again with the SE update service thing, and it still recognize my phone, it came back with "no software update needed". it's just my phone WON'T and CAN'T be turned ON.... HEEEELLLLLPPPPPP
-----------------------------------------------------------------

I've read around (and my head is really hurting now) and concluded that I would need something called a service cable or cruiser cable? and some software that I don't even understand which part is the software name or what to do with the software.

could anyone help me to sort out what to do? if possible via email or live messaging (YM, MSN, those stuff) so that I can be sure that I'm doing the right thing?

OR, the better option, can anyone who has done this before do it for me?

please help. thank you.

P.S. I tried the FAQ post about fixing K800i. my phone is still sleeping peacefully. ...I wish my sick kid is doing that now...

WotanServer can revive your phone. Read Getting Started Guide on the website carefully then you'll understand which CDA is needed.

fu*k wotan. xs and far manager and the basic cable are all thats necessary. no money, and after instaling takes around 10 to 15 mins with guidance. 5 if youre already skilled.
and one more thing. dont mix k800 with k750. different type of phone... and different files needed to flash them...

7 Euros for the service. I've been using the service for months and have had no problems at all. Just read the Getting Started Guide carefully to get the correct flash.

aremaboy... thanks for the info

magicnet2... yes I wouldn't even dare to use K800 stuff on mine. a totally different phone although I'd like to try to use W800 stuff, but again, even though K750 and W800 is so much alike, there are difference too. a friend of mine has asked me to update the W800 after I can revive my K750...

*waiting for a miracle and/or a lightbulb moment to happen*

----
additional info:

it's now Sat, Jul 14 07 5PM us eastern time
* just tried phonexs++ and it said that it can't open communication port. I believe I choose the correct one. USB. however, when my phone (was still alive) connected to the computer and being read by MyPhoneExplorer, it uses COM15. there is no COM15 in phonexs++

**never mind, phonexs++ just work. apparently, the battery was not 100% (when phone died yesterday it was at 95%). it says something that GDFS can't be open and IMEI no match something like that.

*** tried the FARmanager. it says "connect the phone while holding the C button". does as instructed but the program just went back to the previous page. I'm trying to make a backup of that GDFS thing per instructed by previous referred link from tranced. is it too late already?
