Hi,

However is computer eye strain merrly sorness and twitches because of to much time on computers?
Or can it lead to blindness?

if you worried yourself about the harm of eyestrain, probably best to discuss this with an optometrist...
unless there's one thats a member of esato...!
but i'm pretty sure eyestrain wont make you go blind....

No, the worst it can do is make you go temporarily short-sighted, I've suffered from it for years!
If you don't go on a computer or console for a week or two, it goes away completely and your eyesight returns to normal.
It can't possibly make you go blind because it only effects the muscles of your eyes, not the retina or cornea. It's a focusing thing.
There's some talk that prolonged use can cause permanent short sightedness but it hasn't been proved.

I would say blind, but it can screw up the eyes bad. It really really depends on your brightness/contrast settings. Not only does that reduce the monitor life, but your eyes life too.

As long as you not straining and trying to read size 6 print then you will be ok in moderation. I would recommend getting a pair of anti-glare glasses or buying a anti glare sheeth to place on the screen, This will help alot.
But if you working on a screen alot do get your eyes checked more regular so at least you can be aware of how to limit the time
Lighting is also important so make sure no late nights with just your screen and lights off.
Ok that will be £19.50 for my consultation..thanks.
