Bookmark topic
Hi, i just bought a brand (telia mobile sweden) w880i today, i figured out i couldln't use that cool demo-menu they used in the store (flash theme?) in it.
Soi wonder, can i get it unbranded in some way?

hmm, it kinda really does depends on the operator but..
some operators will chnage the standard menu icons as well as remove flash menus, some will remove features sch as blogging and internet calling(only on certain phones), startup and shutdown screens will most probably be changed, and also memory will be used up and the phone will be slower and more unstable due to the branded firmware not being tested thoruoughly

Often carriers add stuff like start up splash screens and proprietary menu items. If you're not on their network a lot of it simply won't work. I had a SonyEricsson V800 with Vodaphone branding. The VodaphoneLive! stuff never worked because I'm on T-Mobile in the U.S. I used DaVinci Team's unbranding software to reflash the phone with generic firmware, eliminating all the VodaPhone crap-ola and making it like a new phone straight from SE. Additionally, some carriers (especially here in the U.S.) disable some features of their phones. Unbranding removes these restrictions and the phone works like SE originally intended.
