I got my contract Sony Ericsson T68i phone cancled becuase I could no longer pay for it, orange said on the phone that they would come and collect it.....
It's been over 3 weeks and the phone is still sitting on my table not being used.
Out going calls and such have been barred so the phone at the moment is no use.
I tryed putting in a Orange Pay As You Go SIM but it came up with a Phone Lock Code screen and I couldn't remember what it was( I changed from default)
So what do you think I should do with it now?
Get it unlocked?
I am thinking of buying a new phone after X-Mas the Sharp GX 10 as PAYG.

Well if i was you i would just sell it if you dont want it or keep it, as it dont look like orange are gonna collect the handset anyway, they problem aint bother as now to them is a used unit which aint much use, i do warn you if you plan on unlocking it it will cost you at least £30 as orange wont unlock it for you considering its theres, and i takes ruffly 3 hours to get it unlock properly , or so i am told from the local guy.

Here is some important advice, the phone is now owned by Orange, they may or may not collect it BUT IT IS THEIRS, so you must leave it longer,8 weeks from the ending of the contract i`d say because they may charge you for it if you don`t return it,or if you make it hard to collect. also if your contract was on direct debit they may be legally allowed to take the value of it from your acount, so make sure the direct debit is canceled at your bank before you do anything.one final thing, if you don`t return it you could find it awkward to use Orange in the future...i hope you do get away with it.

My cousin had a 7110 a year or 2 ago and while using it walking down the road she was smacked in the face and had it nicked,he was caught and the coppers had the phone for 8 months in which ORANGE replaced her phone straight away.
When she eventually got the 7110 back off the coppers she was gonna sell it to me,but when we tried it with both our sim's it was locked. She phoned ORANGE and they said,THAT'S OUR PHONE,WE WANT IT BACK.
THAT'S ORANGE FOR YOU!
By the way,ORANGE gave my cousin £25 credit on her account for the one they had back.
GOOD LUCK,but i would'nt risk it.You will probably end up paying for the price of a new t68i!

Yes & the moral of that story is,if you don`t want to get smacked in the face for your phone, BUY A MOTOROLA

the direct debit was cancled ages ago. They said on the phone that I do not owe any more money from them as I am under 18, one of the main reason why it was canceld.
But I have had no email or any other form of contact from Orange since I rang them up to cancle the phone about 3 weeks ago.
I have allready paid about £250 on the phone through bills.

Check with Oftel (in the phone book) they may advise you that orange was not supposed to sell you a contract, if so & considering what you`ve already paid Orange. They may well have written off that phone, or not want to cause a fuss out of embarrasment. which is NICE !

So your saying that they wouldn't come and collect the phone becuase of my age and how much I allready paid.
It seems such a waste of a perfectly good phone, as it is just sitting there gathering dust
I'll wait till after X-Mas and see what happens, then if nothing still happened then I will probably sell the phone telling the person who is buying the phone to get it unlocked as soon as they get it.
You think it's wise to sell the phone if they don't contact me after a month?
I got the phone from mobileshop.com as I put in 19.09.84 instead of 19.09.85 but when I registered with Orange I said 19.09.85 so they should've geussed something was wrong.
If somebody knows about unlocking phones then could you email me @
samo@truemsnskins.com.

Yes as i guessed, Orange could be in trouble selling you a contract as it`s their duty to do all they can to check your age & because you did state your correct age & the fact that they missed it is probably a worry to them.....if they asked you for it you could say...WHAT CONTRACT I`M NOT EVEN 18, HOW COULD I HAVE HAD A CONTRACT. leve it till after xmas though & remember Orange & others have recently introduced a system to block lost & stolen phones even if you try to use it on another network, so it could be useless + you may have trouble getting another contract with them in the future, so if i was you i`d do nothing till january then see if the phone works for a week on a differant sim, if it doesn`t you may as well give it back to them. ( if you sell it, you are stealing it, because you know it`s not your property).
