I am interested in going skiing in the New Year if i can get my friend to go and am wondering where is the best place to go? I don't mind going anywhere in Europe really but looking for a cheap deal for around 7 nights if possible. Can anybody recommend anywhere they've been at all? Kind of leaning towards Andorra or Italy. We would both be beginners, just wondered where people have been?

Thanks!

I have never been skiing, but I just typed your details in, and bulgaria, france seem to be quite cheap.

Yeah i've looked there too thanks for that, trying to get as cheap as possible really, between £250-£300 would be good but that would have to be flights and accomodation and possibly ski hire too. My friend would be on more of a budget than me as she doesn't work many hours anymore. Just wondered where people have been, Arisnal seems quite lively.

That price may be a bit of a push for new year for everything. Have you looked on expedia and the likes?

The 3 valleys in France...

all my mates swear by it...

as do snowboarders...

but it has all manner of runs, from total beginner (like me) to proper black runs...

my mates always go to Val Thorens....

Andorra would be closest to your budget or certainly not a large resort.
6 Days Ski hire with boots would be around £130 then you have lift pass etc...oh and dont forget your food!

Andorra for a beginer would be just great - nice and cheap, lots of easy runs and a nice modern lift network (plus ver lively apres ski - if that's something you're after) The 3 Valleys is superb but the majority of the terrain is aimed at more experienced skiiers and you will struggle to get there on your budget. I have heard good things about Bulgaria but have never been there so can't comment first hand.

If you book now you will get some self-catered accomodation in Andorra - if you wait and make a last minute booking you will more than likely get somewhere catered within your budget.

Above all make sure you go ! ! ! You will have a fantastic time wherever you go

Ooooo looks like a friend at work is up for this so i'm more than likely going to go, just have to find a cheap deal, we may leave it last minute to book. Looking to go around 13th January to Arisnal most probably, have read good reviews about Andorra.

Thanks Tom!
