Hi Everyone - This is my first post, and I hope it's not something that's been gone over a million times before, but stick with me!
I work in a busy nightclub, and we get a lot of lost property. Most is reclaimed by its' owner, but if it's not we get the pick of it after it's been with us for three months.
I have just acquired an unclaimed Sony Ericsson w850i by just such means.
The phone charges, and turns on but is protected by a Phone Lock code.
Even if this is removed, there is still no guarantee the phone hasn't been network-barred, so I don't want to spend a fortune doing it to end up with a phone that is ultimately useless anyway.
Is there any way to remove this, or am I just as well chucking the thing in the bin and sticking with my trusty Nokia 6230? The phone is branded to the same operator I'm with (02 UK). I have to admit I like the look and features of the phone compaired to my ancient brick, but is it really worth the hassle of removing the phone code to find it's network blocked anyway?

maybe sell for spares on eBay or sell abroad as barred phones work there

you can use davinciteam or wotanserver to read the phone lock code im sure, wont be over €10 if not free
