i have a p990i and i am shocked that se is abandoning it and just releasing its final firware by august. htc's touch caught my attention and i ama thinking of replacing my p990i with it.... but my main concern is that i am a heavy texter, i know that there are a lot of phone pads out there but is it a wise decision to replace my p990i with a ppda phone? ireally need some help on this because i have no complains about the p990 except the fact that it is being outdated by p1 and w960.. so should i hold onto it or sell it while it has a fair amount of price if i sell it... thanks in advance!

When you text a lot, a "real" keyboard is much more comfortable than a touch screen, so in your case, I'd have my doubts about the HTC Touch.
Besides, when your P990i works fine, why would you replace it already ?
True, in a few months, you'll get less money, when you sell it, but on the other hand, it's now already worth a lot less, than when it was new and the new phone you'll buy (P1, i.e.), will be cheaper also in a few months.

P990 has everything already HTC touch misses. from keypad, autofocus, 3G, Qwerty Keyboard, and many more. i don't like the fact that HTC touch is incorporating a slow processor for such a Speed Centric OS. yeah i know it is able to run animations on it's touchflo technology efficiently, but how on third party applications whereas runs more efficient on a 400Mhz CPu and above? so that's why you should choose P990
