On the day I got my P1 my M600 went totally loose and will almost fall out if the phone is upside down

looking inside the battery cover there is a metal clip that the bottom part of the stylus hooks into and its come loose but I haven't really figured out how to secure it in place

has anyone seen a guide for this or have any experience in fixing it?

use some sort of strong glue/adhesive to fix it in place. the clip on my m600 actually fell out and i had to fix it back with a strong glue. i'll try to post some photos as soon as i can.

Hiya Masseur... There should be a piece of the middle chassis section of the phone that holds the metal clip in place..forms a small plastic tab... I bought my second M600i and it was like this... I tried to superglue the plastic tab back into place... but failed...
Purchased a new an original middle chassis section and swopped all the inners over... This should have it's own metal clip in place...

You are correct Nyb.... it is part of the chassis... and I hope yours stays in place... My background is in the prestige vehicle manufacturing... and through my trade, although a dying one nowadays... I am very aware of stress points and the use of adhesives... in this case... I would suggest, if confident to do so or can find someone to do it for you... swop to a new chassis...

my plastic piece completley broke off. a very bad design, that stylus retainer. if it's still in place all you need is a single piece of tape on the batterie cover so it comes in contact with the plastic clip. since mine is completly gone i used a small piece of adhesive foam(like weather striping).on the batterie cover.so it comes in contact with the metal wire. works like a charm. in the meantime, awaiting new housing.

i trapped a piece of paper folder up between the battery and the metal bit
that does the job for me..

very bad design indeed

I had the exact same thing happen to me: the little plastic-clip broke off so I lost my stylus one day without noticing before too late.

The thing I did, was that I used some regular scotch tape and wound it a few turns around he metal pin, making it about 1-1,5mm thicker so that when the battery cover is in place, it pushes down on the tape and thus the clip. The stylus has never been held more firm than now.
Of course, it loosens when I remove the battery cover and the battery, but if I'm just paying attention to that fact it works perfectly.

sorry guys, been fixing my laptop...

I'm a bit confused about what plastic bit you're all meaning.

edit: ah! I think I see the plastic you're talking about. I'm guessing there should be a little tab half way down where the metal clip is. The metal clip should sit under it and be held in place by that plastic tab? It looks broken in the first pic

here's a pic of the metal bit I'm talking about when not in its correct place

and here is where it should be

but it won't stany in that place. does anyone have a pic of this plastic bit you're talking about please?

btw, P1 is different design. The stylus has its own silo all the way down. You can just about make out the stylus in this picture
