Hi,
Is it possible to make my phone into a dialup modem and just dial my ISP's phone number and connect to the internet? I tried to do it but the phone needs a CSD connection. I don't have a CSD (no provider in Sri Lanka supports CSD). Shouldn't people make a software to do this? Dialup is just normal voice.
Btw, when I setup everything and give the number and dial it it says "Remote computer is taking too long to respond". But it doesn't event wait for the server to answer the call. (Probebly because the phone is CSD)

you can use GPRS if it avilabel in your country. and it comes with the phone software cd. nad you should be supsicribed to it.

GPRS charges are really too much in our country. Its USD $2 per MB. I can't afford that.

even if you used the csd it will charge you too time first for dialing the number for the internet per minutes and using the internet account on your internet acount also, if your network provider provid you internet access thrue your mobile phone there will be deferent number for dialing from your mobile and it will be too slow to connect and download also. its up to you to chose? I'm from dubai i use gprs to connect to my internet and i dial *99# and it charge me per mb download i end up with almost $200 permonth. and it not fast. will if you will taske my advice try to supsicrib to internet service and let them provid you the internet access to you home land line better much cheaper and faster.

will what to say to you. it is defrent from country to country. have you checked if the network provider providing csd number for internet or wap so you can use your cellular phone as a modem?

Yes, and my provider Dialog GSM does not support CSD... may be because its much more profitable to charge a person $2 per MB... or may be they have incompatible hardware or something
