Hi there,

Got a sim-free BlackBerry 8800 for sale or trade (preferably for sale). This 8800 is a seed device directly from RIM and is open to all networks.

The device is fully functionally and condition-wise is 9/10 (it fell down once so there are a few scruff marks on the top and two minute marks on the left side)
Unfortunately it's just the 8800 incl. battery & usb cable that's for sale i.e. no box, mains charger (the 8800 can be charged via PC with the usb cable provided)

Will upload some pics later on. any questions, please ask...

Cheers

Is this a test unit from the back sticker it seems like so, so does that mean the firmware might be a bugger to update? And how much are you looking for or what would you like to trade with?

What os is it running? 4.1 or 4.2? Also I guess its unlatched so pin is free to be used on any network?

Also what price are you after for it?

Hi,

This is a seed device, with most up to date software. I'm in a fortunate position where I get un-announced devices from RIM to test.

I've only tested the blackberry service on T-Mobile and it's since been de-registered so no problems there. Also as this is not branded, it's got all the available themes for various networks.

Price-wise, I'm not too fussed really but anything above £150 will do just fine.
Trade-wise, I'm looking to play with an unlocked UIQ smartphone in good condition ie. P990, P1 or even (and I don't believe I'm saying this) a Motorola Z8.

Ta.

It's running Cingular's 4.2 version. As mentioned earlier, you can use any network's os version on this. I chose Cingular's it had all the display properties I needed. I can ofcourse load another os version for the buyer if required.

Also this I'd being sold 'cos there's no need for the 8800 to sit unused in my cupboard when it could be sold to someone who'd have use for it.

I'm sure the 8800 is not your run-of-the-mill item being put on this board but coming from someone who's advocated the P-series since the P800, BlackBerry devices (from the 8xxx onwards) are the way to go.
