i have a k800i and the lcd screen has stopped lighting up as are the keypad lights
i can see the lcd screen working in daylight but the leds are not lighting up.
now im asking if i buy a new screen will it solve the problem?
do the led lights light up the lcd screen or does the screen light up itself through being connected to the mainboard?
any answers please?
cheers
dave

Well this thing DOES ship with a guarantee, you know.
There's no need to buy a new screen (however you plan to do that).
Just bring your phone with the guarantee it came with to the place you bought it from (or to same type of shop somewhere else [say, you bought it from a T-Mobile shop; bring it to any T-Mobile shop and they'll either fix it or get you a new one]).
Hope I cleared that up a bit.
PS. Well... my K810's screen and the buttons do light up when I activate the keypad (I set it to lock itself up).

Has the phone been wet/damp at all?
Could be moisture has corroded the screen/keypad contacts slightly meaning the backlights don't work - this could be fixed with a new screen, though it depends on if the damage is on the LCD's connector or the connector on the mainboard. If it's the mainboard connector you could be in trouble - though you could try using contact cleaner or even WD-40 on it (though be careful not to get any on the microphone as I don't think it likes it!)
The other possibility is a firmware problem - try updating the phone via SEUS and see if that helps
