> P990i alarm volume - very low
Bookmark topic
Hello,
Had bought this unit last week. The volume of the actual alarm (when it goes off), is not loud as the playback. It is very low volume.
Can i do something to change it?
Where can i find ringtones with louder sound than the few which they provide with the unit?
i.e all volume adjustments on my phone are on the MAX level.
Thanks ,

I'm guessing that your unit's firmware is version the older R5 one? When I first got my P990i, this was also the case, and the alarm volume was low. Try upgrading your firmware with the Sony Ericsson Update site; hopefully you'll get the R6D23 firmware, which should resolve the low alarm sound problem.
Hope you're enjoying your new P990i

Thaks. Yes your right, i have the older firmware.
I understand from the person which i bought the phone from him(he had it 4 month), that the it was very slow with the R6 firmware, so he had to reinstall the R5 back.
Can i do something to change it, other han the R6?

Well, you could wait another week or so and then the newest firmware should be available. First half of August 2007. If you have world1 fw then you should be able to use it right away.

Thanks, I guess I'll wait for the next firmware.
By the way, when I install the new firmware, am I going to loose all data, second language and software? How do I make the backup?
Good day

Hmm, If I were you I'd thank god the alarm rings at all :-/ I can't get mine to
work. If I set it 5 minutes from now it will ring, but overnight the phone always
freezes up or something stops working and the alarm rings after I restart the
phone, regardless of what time it is.
