> P990i caller ID when text is received?

Hi guys
searched through the forum and net for an answer to this and cant find anything! Basically i've had my p990i for a couple of weeks now and was just wondering if there is anyway i can have a picture of the person sending me a text displayed when i receive it?
I've had this on previous sony ericssons and am surprised that ive not been able to find this feature yet!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that once that person is in your contacts and you have a picture of them connected to the contact then it works. FOr me it works.

I've got a picture already set as the contacts caller ID but still no luck!
Does having the flip on or off make a difference to this? I currently have the flip on.

in the settings menu,go to general,new events+set to pop-up.dont know if this is the same for the p series.

im on tmobile, snd when i first got the 990, it did indeed have the picture pop up when new text messages come in.
However, i distinctly remember getting a text mess from tmobile, stateing that they have anew messaging system and no longer will a full window show you have a text message ( this includes the caller id text mess) instead it will just be the small icon on the bottom. they also said that it will work the same for a voice mail message. notice how when you get a voice mail its just the little icon on the bottom now?
so i believe its not a p990 setting, its carrier specific.

Seems strange though cause I was using my 3 sim in my w900 and the text caller id worked no probs.

This is annoying for me to because I have the flip removed and to read the
text message I have to either pull out the stylus to poke the icon, or press it
with my finger, which leaves a fingerprint on the screen that I have to wipe
off later
