Hi, the only thing stopping me from buying this phone is to know if its possible to through WLAN or GPRS to import our university mail exchange file that ends with .prf (think its a outlook file). I know the P1 has outlook. But I dont want the mail to get deleted like in POP3 from the original server when you fetch them, just a copy like now in Windows outlook through that exchange file. Does anybody know if this is possible.

Kindly George

when using POP3, you can choose to NOT delete the files on the server. You do this on the POP3 account settings.

As far as I am aware no phone takes a .prf files as this is for outlook and no phone has outlook except for windows mobile phone, and they dont accept .prf files either.

If its an exchange server you can use Active Sync which comes with the phone..as long as you have the settings and the university have the correct certificate for wireless sync you will have no problem whatsoever

Aha ok, well the university offers free wireless Wlan to all students so they must have it certified you think?

Unfortunately its a bit different than that...the wireless lan does not mean that they have the correct certificate to sync from your phone wirelessly. The certificate is for the exchange server to communicate with you phone...

Oh ok, if IŽve figured this right they must have a special certificate to sync with P1`s software, right? Because they do support exchange with their .prf file in outlook. I beg to god that it works when I get my phone or IŽll make it work somehow, its worthless if it deletes the original emails. By the way, at our university you have to register the MAC adress to get access to the WLAN, is that possible to do with the P1, does it have a MAC adress in its wlan network card?

Yeah it has a MAC-adress. Go to the "Wireless LAN"-menu, press "More", then "MAC-Adress".
