this article on the BBC website about
MyFootballClub, a website that gives fans a chance to buy their share of a football club. It's no pie in the sky, they have over 50,000 members and have reached their £1.4 target for buying a football club!
All you need is £35 to buy a share, and you can even take decisions on picking the team, transfer decisions, and vote on important club decisions!
Excerpt from BBC article above:
Website MyFootballClub has achieved its target of recruiting 50,000 fans - only three months after launching its bid to take over a football club.
Four clubs have already approached the website, which will now collect £35 from each member towards a £1.4m takeover fund to buy a club.
Members will have the right to vote on all major decisions affecting the club.
"There has been much takeover talk but this has caught the fans' imagination," creator Will Brooks told BBC Sport.
"The website has received over £100,000 in six hours."
"A new fan base of tens of thousands will greatly enhance a club's prospects" - MyFootballClub's Will Brooks
Currently, Leeds is the club members would most like to take over, followed by Cambridge United, Nottingham Forest, Accrington Stanley, Barnet and Brighton.
I'm hoping to cobble together £35 and buy a share. The current top club they're after buying is Leeds United - you can vote on what club they buy, I'm a Nottingham Forest fan and Forest are second in their voting league - please join and vote for them!
P.S. I don't own that website btw, just realised this sounds a bit like a plug, but think it's a great idea!

Sammy, i never realised you were a scum fan!
I was tempted to do this but when i saw they were interested in buying Leeds, Forest and Accrington Stanley as some of their top targets i put my money firmly back in my pocket.
Buy a proper club like Notts County!

Scum?!?!?!?

I come from Nottingham originally which is why I'm a Forest fan, though from the Mansfield area so I guess should really have supported them!
Notts County are 14th on their list, they're apparently in talks already with four clubs - some have even approached the site about being taken over!
