I setup my work email on my P1 and just realized that when I get a new email it removes it from the server.

How do I make it so that it saves a copy on the server? I can't find any setting for that on the P1.

Thanks!

Sounds like a strange problem. The telephone can in no way remove mails from your server, and there is no setting in the phone to do that. Maybe some mailserver-setting?

On my computer I have set it that it removes the email from the server after a week. Most mail clients on computers can be configured that way. I don't see any option for that on the phone. But when I logged in to the server today all my emails were gone.

I'm not familiar with the P1i, but is there a setting somewhere that says something like 'keep email on server', maybe it needs a checkbox checking or something.

The phone can delete emails off your email server, I've been doing that with my K800i and similar phones for a while now!

Yeah, I was looking for such a checkbox but couldn't find any.

@henkee:

Yes, there is no setting to keep or remove downloaded e-mails on the server, they should be kept.

But there is a way to remove mails from your server:

Just delete the mail fm the inbox of your phone and it will be deleted fm the server on the next send/rcv as well.

@amagab:

maybe that is what you've done.

Yes, I've been deleting them from the inbox. I didn't know that would delete them from the server. Is there any way to prevent that?

Use the Local delete menu item, not the Delete.

There is no Local Delete. Yes, I guess I just have to follow your advice and keep the headers until downloaded on my laptop. Kind of suck though.

Anyone know of a good third party email client?

Does the P1 sync the inbox with Outlook or is it only the contacts and calendar?
