i just bought my P1 today and was wondering if it is a prototype. How can i find out?

check the IMEI label on the back of the phone. It will have the text Prototype printed quite visible... also, most protype phones have an IMEI number beginning of two zeros (00), instead for example 35

thank god mine doesnt start with 00!

and by the way, are there any firmware updates for cda/87? i cant check on it as i am running on a mac. bummer!

you probably have the latest... since the phone hasn't been out on the market for so long,

hasn't released any new firmware version yet.
