Hi there, has anyone had any luck getting an 802.1x WiFi connection working using PEAP? I've tried various different settings and none seem to work... I don't know whether the phone is just not accepting the certificate? How can I check this?

The settings for my internet group are:

Authentication: WPA
Network mode: Infrastructure

Data encryption: TKIP
Network authentication: PEAP

Inner authentication: EAP-MS-CHAPv2
Username: username
Password: password

I have also tried with the authentication set to 802.1x and a DYNMAIC-WEP but this still doesn't work.... My above configuration seems to try connecting for about 40 seconds and then just says "Unable to connect".

If it makes any difference, we're using an Aruba wireless system and I have double checked my username and password are correct.

Thanks for anyone's help.

Jon.

I need help for this as well! My school network apparently uses CISCO LEAP (that's what my Thinkpad said).

What's also weird is that the length of my password changes after the connection fails. Can support for alternative kinds of authentication be added through firmware support?

edit: At least the P990i could adjust the authentication used... mine just defaults to PEAP...

The reason your password "changes in length" is just to stop people guessing your password. For exmaple, if your password was only 3 characters long, it might be easier for someone to guess...

Another note, my firmware is as folows:

@jonathan488: It's pretty long to start with.
