Hi everyone, don't ever fly British Airways, or at least not to check-in your brand new 680 euro phone, or check-in anything. They will just "lose" it.

So the story goes (sorry for the long post):

1. I got a P1i in Belgium.
2. I flew to London (LHR) from Brussels (BRU) with 4 luggages missing (2 mine, 2 my gf's, in fact the BA pilot decided to leave 89 luggage behind due to a luggage belt problem).
3. I had the P1i in the box in one of the lost luggage. (I didn't want to carry it with me since I want it to be protected by the original box and thinking about reselling it in the states).
4. three of the four missing luggage came the next day to my london hotel (the only good news).
5. now we are back home in California and our 4th bag (and P1i) still missing.
6. its been 19 days counting now since we first lost our bags.

Dealing with BA:
1. can't call London BA baggage recovery; it's too busy to take any calls. Apparently BA lost/misplaced 60,000+ bags recently in London.
2. call internationally to USA number (very $$) when I was in London
3. but not like the phone representatives are too helpful. They give conflicting information and with some of them, I need to teach them what/where to look information about my bags.
4. They recycled tag numbers (numbers assigned to the luggage) weekly. Meaning there are new information about my missing tag number except they are from new customers. Shouldn't they really recycle tag numbers more on a yearly basis???

P1i is expensive, but replaceable with $$$. But there are many items in the missing bags that are just irreplaceable such as: gifts I bought my gf for special occasions all these years. And ruining the rest of our Europe trip (we spent half of a day everyday calling BA and buying things we need from the missing luggage ever since).

We feel like part of us is missing. We just want our bag BACK.

More on my new blog to bash BA and little tricks we learn dealing with BA for fellow victims of BA lost luggage program:

Too bad, some of those lost things have sentimental value. never mind the P1 as you have said, it's still replacable. but those memories...

Very sorry to hear about your loss there - I would still have carried the phone itself at least in my hand luggage - I don't trust anything of value to baggage handlers!

BA have gone downhill in recent years, they've recently been fined for price fixing too and have had a string of scandals of late.

I hope your phone and baggage turn up soon though

Sorry to hear that dude. I flew back from Moscow last night into Heathrow. I was more worried about the Peli case with my computer kit in it going missing than my own suitcase with clothes and stuff! lol

Personally I would've carried my P1i in my hand luggage (much like my Laptop and PSP). Apologies if that feels like rubbing salt in the wound though.

BA are notorious for losing luggage, so I'm not very surprised with this issue. Can you claim it on your holiday insurance possibly?

expensive items should be with had luggage if possible as Marc states, it is a shame when something like this happens. BA have been fined heavily already this week.

They will find your bag and cellphone. Don't worry and don't forget to post it here when your bag is returned
