> W960 and P1i: Same firmware?
Bookmark topic
There are 11 pages of posts regarding bugs in the P1i, which uses the same firmware at the P990. Will the W960 use the same firmware?
If so, that removes one reason for waiting for the W960.

Ok, let me rephrase:
According to the P1i bugs thread, the same bugs exist on the P990 and the P1i. Should I expect that the same bugs will be in the W960, given that they haven't been fixed since the P990 was released over a year ago?
I have been trying to decide between:
Nokia N95 (my wife has it and it is fantastic, apart from the battery life)
W960 (Available August, October, December, or Q1 in Asia? And I am worried about bugs)
P1i (nope, too many mediocre reviews and disappointed owners, poor video recording, limited video playback)
Nokia N82 (no release date announced, but I hope it fixes the battery issues in the N95 and adds some RAM)
I'm not getting a P1i, although I lust for that keypad. If the same bugs will be in the W960, then I don't want it, either, and I will have to buy my first Nokia after 6 years as a loyal Sony Ericsson customer...T68i, Z610, S700, K700.

well i owned both the p990 and w950. the w950 was much more stable than p990. speed difference was very noticeable. didnt have many issues with w950
though that might have been because the phones had different hardware...
the main difference between the p1 and w960 will be qwerty and

software

Dunno what all the fuss is about. My P1i hasn't crashed, I've had it a whole week now. Totally unlike owning an early N95. Basically, you can have 12 apps open at the same time (this happens a lot, as you have to quit for the task manager), because of the RAM. The outstanding part of the P1i is the 128MB RAM. Most other phones will be closing apps left right and centre, but my P1i hasn't flinched. It seems to play back every video file I encoded for my Nokia N80 (The N80 could play back 352x288 sized videos on its 416x352 screen) on the P1i, which has a screen a similar size to the N95, and the same QVGA res. Sure, the N95 has more features and software, but the P1i is physically more solid, and very stable. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is Fring, whenever I try a VoIP call, Fring will crash and restart itself. I guess I have the benefit of the latest firmware too.

i wouldn't get a w960i and one of the reasons is i'm getting a p1i which includes a better battery which the w960i should have especially if you wanna listen to music and since it's main features are large touch screen, wifi.
