> K800i problem

So I got my K800i about a month ago, but now a problem has occured. When calling, I can't hear anything, no dial tone, no voicemail. When turning the speaker on, I do hear all this. Is this a known issue for this phone and is there a way to fix it other then go to a shop to try and have it repaired?

Ok, so far switching off and on doesn't fix it and neither does a master reset. When trying to call someone I can hear some background noise at first.. but when the other phone actually starts to ring the background noise stops too. I'm like really worried here guys, because I don't want to get a new phone already.

Probably a problem with the ear speaker. It could just need the phone taking apart and it's contact prongs bending back into position - I've fixed a K800i with this problem this way before. Has the phone ever been apart to your knowledge? Often when people are putting the front fascia back on the bend these prongs causing the ear speaker to stop working.
You can also try doing a firmware update via the Sony Ericsson Update Service and see if that fixes the problem.

Well, I don't know how to bend those things you are talking about but I presume I will have to take apart the whole phone which never has been done to my knowledge. I will try to update the firmware first.

If you're not sure about taking the phone apart it's probably best to get someone else to do it, or get it done under warranty if it's under a year old.
I'm fairly sure it's an ear speaker problem or a problem with it's connectors, best place to start anyway!

Do I have to remove the top part of the phone for it? I might not have a screwdriver that small.. and if it requires the whole phone to be taken apart... I'm not sure about that either. I will give it a try though.
