I recently bought a p990i and experienced very low volume with the earphones provided in the p990i's package especially in loud places where u barely hear a thing. I was considering of buying an adapter to plug in the earphones i had from my p910i, my only concern ..this may be a noob question but is the problem coming from the headset itself or is the phone the main concern?

Have you sen how other people with the same model manage with theis? I feel like ynu wil buy something you hardly need where there might be an easier solution.

I was merely suggesting that try and get help from other people who have the same phone as you do. Its highly posible that you are missing some settings there, or else the phone has a proplem. If none of the mentioned is true abou your phone then you can now opt for the adapter. Does it makes sense now?

restart the phone, when it goes to insert PIN, enter this to enter into service menu:
with flip closed is the jog: >(rigth)*(star)Now you should be in service menu, choose service test, then speakers, click front speaker and it should appear 50% put it in 90% by click the up button on the front jog dial, (when is done you can hear it much better), simply exit the menu, and RESTART the phone, you will see now is much louder, one more thing if you go back to the speaker menu it goes to 50% again so you must do it the same thing all over again. So is better do it leaving at 90 % and exit ...this trick will work just fine.
