> By changing earphones will it help? p990i
Bookmark topic
I recently bought a p990i and experienced very low volume with the earphones provided in the p990i's package especially in loud places where u barely hear a thing. I was considering of buying an adapter to plug in the earphones i had from my p910i, my only concern ..this may be a noob question but is the problem coming from the headset itself or is the phone the main concern?

yes it will make a huge diference, the p990 headphones are old and not good at all, just get a connector and use your own.
Thats the first thing i did when i got my p990 and my k750.

I will say out of my own experience: it will NOT help! This low volume is a plague and I have that with several different p990s and different headsets (cable!!!).
That is why I use only Bluetooth sets where the volume is loud and clear!
Regards

the difference will be night and day in my experience, i ditched the stock earphones after a day and bought the hpm 82, the sound was good enough but i was not yet satisfied and got a sennheiser mx400, now i'm satisfied, so i'd say yes get an adaptor and plug your fave earphones

The sennheiser is that a powered one? Why should it boost the volume otherwise?
What would be the difference compared to the SE ones? One the technical side that is?

i'm not really an audiophile but based on my observation the senns sound a bit louder with bass and treble more pronounced, especially with the megabass on, which had little effect when i used the hpm82...
the mx-400 is just a midrange earphone by the senns so i expect the high-end ones to be better... maybe for audiophiles the p990i or changing the earphones may not be good enough, but for a casual listener like me the sound is good enough, and there is definitely a marked improvement than using the standard headset that came in the box... hope this helps

if you are into music, mp3 then you should forget about using the P series phones by SE. the are just not designed to give good sound. this is out of my own experience when i switched from w810 to p990. now i am back to using a walkman phone cos i realised that it is music that i treasure. currently using w660
