Hidely ho phoneheads,
I've got a t68i with a spiffy plastic cover but I have noticed dirt and dust is starting to creep in. I read a while back that gently rubbing a toothbrush around the joystick area rids your phone of pesky dust (and you can't beat that Mcleans shine
) but I am concerned with the earpiece area, that odd
square that I have come to love - there is clearly dust in there but I don't know how to clear it out.
Please bear in mind in any reply that I have no specialist tools to break in so any advice using normal household tools would be nice.
Also, apart from the earpiece and the joystick is there anywhere else on the t68i that is su...succ...(long word) likely to get dirty? If so, how would I clean in there?

Yea it`s a problem, it will eventually get behind your screen but put up with it as long as you can because even if you have the correct torx type screwdriver (no.5 i think mine is or maybe no.6) it`s possible to break the ariel cover if your not shown how to do it. a friendly service centre employee showed me what to do.Once opened i blow mine out with a compressor but a soft clean paint brush used with a bicycle pump is ok. if u want to take it to bits then i`ll explain here but be carefull........put you thumbnail in the crack at the top to remove the ariel cover (on the back at the top) this goes back on in reverse to removal, undo all 4 screws + use thumbnail to release sides of front cover,& don`t forget to clean every part all over inc the keypad.don`t lose the vibro unit located in the bottom of the front cover.also it`s not a good idea to leave fingerprints on the glass or screen so try not to actually touch them.

How do I get my software updated or my phone cleaned? Travelling three quarters of the way down the country really isn't an option :-/
(neither is self-flashing my software or taking my phone apart, before anyone mentions it)

Try a nearby Carphone warehouse, they often help even if you didn`t buy from them. Cover removal to be honest is only like changing covers on a Nokia.it`s not rocket science, but on the subject of firmware upgrades on the internet DONT RISK IT. ...... If your not capable of dismantling a phone why ask how to clean it inside though.

I thought it might be possible to clean the little speaker thingeo without actually dismantling the phone.
