Having recently received my P1, I find the ringtones and themes extremely disappointing. The ringtones are all musical (apart from Classic Phone) which I find very un-cool and the themes (apart from Default) are all very garish with bright colours. I'm looking for something cool and laid back like the white theme for the M600. I don't suppose that will work on the P1? I've been trying the SE website tonight to download new themes and ringtones but I think the site is down at the moment.

The M600 and W950 themes are perfectly compatible witht he P1 and vice versa.

You know...you can always use your MP3's as ring tones like I do...now I have what.....50 ringtones and songs I can listen to at the same time ^_^. Course I edit some of my songs with a sound editor so that only the best part of the song becomes a ringtone.

Thanks guys. I will see if the White theme for the M600 suits the P1. Maybe I'll try the black one since the P1 has so much black on it. As for ringtones, I know you can use the mp3 tracks but I'm looking for variations of telephone sounds rather than musical ones. Things like Old Phone, etc. which Nokia and Motorola seem to include with their phones but SE seem to ignore. I'm just too old fashioned I suppose!

Tried downloading M600 themes from sonyericsson.com/fun but once the file has downloaded, it says that it can't open/read the file! Anyone got any ideas on how you get the M600 themes running on the P1i?

You need to get the .utz file on the phone memory or memory card, install it from the phone by selecting it and it will then appear in your themes in the control panel.

In case you download a zip file with plenty of picture files inside, just change the extension of the file to .utz.

and here is a site with M600/W950/P1 themes

Well if you want, I got a bunch of midi's and mp3 with old rings and beeps. I suppose you could also go online and try to find mp3 recordings of phone rings. I'm pretty sure i've seen those around. Cheers!

I went to the Sony site to try and download the purple theme (it isn't called that but it's the one on the K800/810i). The theme is listed there and in the P1i folder too but when I try to download it I get the message that my phone doesn't support it. Anyone got any ideas where I can download that or any other theme come to mention it?
