Anybody else having problems with this feature???
I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME log on via WLAN! I can with my laptop, I can with my Nokia N80, I can with my Sony PSP. With the P1i? Not a chance!
I only have a 'b' router so that isn't the issue. I've even tried disabling security on it so that anyone can gain access and I still can't get on.

I'm not a technophobe and I've set up wifi access points loads of times before, I'm beginning to think this handset is faulty! Is there some special knack peculiar to this phone that I'm somehow missing? I've been through it all, even to the point where I've tried no security. If I can't get to the bottom of it tomorrow the phone is going back to O2.

It's probably your handset. It was a piece of cake for me.

I think at least as far as WLAN is concerned, Sonyericsson have got it right. I've always found that setting it up in a SE device (including P1i) is a piece of cake!

Had similar problem at home.. could't get the WLAN work..
Searched Esato and found: disable the POWER Save function (can't remeber where it was)
After that it worked directly..
(as we speak the WLAN app hanged when searching for WLAN (at work))

What happens when you scan for a wlan network?
What happens when you tap connect?
What happens when you open Opera?

I scan for networks, locate my home SSID and log onto it, giving my WEP code. I also turn the power saving off. The WLAN shows as connected, the WLAN icon shows in the top left of the screen (and stays on), also the internet globe icon flashes. There is a gold star alongside my internet account. However, when I open opera NOTHING happens. Eventually it says that it can't find the local server etc. I'm stumped! With my laptop, Nokia N80 and Sony PSP all I have to do is enter the SSID and WEP, then I'm on! Simple. Why the big deal with my P1i?

Could someone who has the WLAN working list all the steps from start to finish just in case I've done something wrong? I'm pretty sure that I haven't. If I can access my home network with every device I own except for the P1i I'm thinking there must be something wrong with it...

I had the same problem, now I could connect it while I was on WEP! However I then changed it to WPA2 and on the phone it is set as AES in the settings. This allows a connection to take place between the router and phone.

When the phone is connected, what is the channel number etc...
