Hi guys,
I just noticed that there are several shortcut Keys on the P1i, are there also some for the P990i? I am looking for a faster ways to turn the P990i silent, is there a key-combination to achieve this?

If you have the flip on the P990i then you can go into silent mode by pressing and holding the # key.

press and hold the hash key toggles silent. you need to be at the standby screen for this to work.
So far all shortcuts on my P1 are the same as those I used on the M600, which I assume are the same for P990? (at least in FO mode)

Thanks guys.. well than it would work if I had the Flip on. Since I use the P990 without flip, I tried to press ALT+. which is # but it does not work.
in FO mode, every keypress starts the Contact app, navigating to the Letter I pressed.

1. In the Messaging screen, pressing * will toggle the message to be read or unread.
2. ALT+Shift to bring up the drop down menu
3. In standby ALT + OK together to voice-dial
4. In standby press jog dial for a second or two to activate voice dial
5. Select text then pressing Alt + ^ opens the cut/copy/paste/select. In general with FO, pressing Alt+^ opens the relevant menu
6. For Yes and No can use Y and N on the keyboard
7. Hold # to switch to/from silent mode.
8. Hold any letter button to open/go to contacts.

U must be asking for a shortcut in FO mode, as in FC mode it's in the center of the phone
Well, there is none I am aware of, but tapping the arrow next to 'Incoming call' at the top + mute is not a big deal, at least not for me.

Yeah, that works!
To silence an incoming call press <-- (Backspace), works at least in FO mode (don't have the flip on)
