Morning. I will describe my situation:
Three days ago I bought a FAKE 4GB MS Sony Pro Duo. I knew it was fake, but I have read that even these ones are good alternatives because the only problem that present is that these fake MS are slower, and sometimes dont have all the storage capacity that the package indicates (2GB instead of 4GB). So is that I decided to get it. When I first inserted in my w810 firmware R4EA31, the first problem? sowed up: it is not a hot swap memory, I mean, if I insert the memory when the phone is on, it is not recognized for it. I have to turn it off, and then turn the phone on to get the MS to be recognized. Is this wrong? Originals Sony 4gb MS Pro Duo are Hot Swap? Or the high storage capacity prevent them from being hot swap? What are your experiences with fakes MS? Did they turned to be hot swap or not?
After this problem, I tell myself that I could live with a 4gb MS not being hot swap...but the problems didnt end here. What now came up was a terrible slowness...well...4gb not being hot swap and being slower than an original MS, is something that I could live with....but here comes the real problem...the one thing I didnt expect...and the one thing I cant tolerate...the fake 4gb MS Pro Duo has problems managing its files. For instance: when I copy using the phone, 25 mp3 files from one folder to other in the MS, some of the files appeared duplicated in the phone file browser, and when try to delete one of these duplicates, it is not possible because of “protected file or something...”, the more interesting is that when I turned off the phone, and then turn it on again, this problem gets solved.
Other problem that is happening is that when I create a long playlist (70 mp3 files or so...) and I play one of these files, the phone freezes and I have to take off the battery to get it back alive.
What do you think guys? Is there any solution or advise you can give me for keeping the memory and avoid these problems from happen? Could it be a solution to flash the phone with other firm? What firm do you suggest to use a 4GB MS Pro Duo? Advise me please, because I cant get a refund and I dont know what to do. Thanks in advance.

Any firmware can take it, but I guess is more stbale with the last one. I just don't understand why invest in something that you know doesn't work, even if you didn't have the money for a 4gb, you should bought a 2Gb one.
A fake MSPD won't work well with any firmware or phone, just because it's FAKE. And also you can damage your phone which will be more expensive than the cost of a fake memory.

Dont waste your time with fake memory cards, they only cause trouble for your phone.
They start off fine then a month or 2 down the line the trouble starts.
Phone crashing all the time, loss off data from the memory card etc etc etc.

Is £37 really too much to spend? It's atleast genuine and you aint gonna screw your phone up.
