Is there a way to use the flashlight without "start" the camera? Like it is on the K750? Would it be possible to have a application to do it?

.this would be great if someone would write a app for this. it s annoying to hold down the shutter button all the time. i knew this feature lack before i bought it. but if i think about it i have to admit that this was one of the most used feature on my k750.

(Out of topic)
On the K800 you could use http://torchk800.matlista.se/.
It uses the red focus light LED as a flash light.

Maybe this trick will help. At least it works on my P990i
Offcourse you have to open camera( no option without that)

OPen Camera . Use pciture mode. press shutter button so that the flashlight is on.

Now without releasing the shutter button use the scroll wheel to change the mode to movie mode.

Now even if you rlease shutter buttin the flashlight in on. ( normally it remains on for 5 minutes.

@pranil:

Nope, doesn't work on my P1i. BTW, the jog dial changes the exposure on the P1i, not toggling between video/picture modes.

Shame there's no shutter on the P1 like the p990 i use flashlight quite a lot especially when trying to find the right door key after a night out. a shutter would make like so much easier open shutter, hold focus button, done? close shutter but alas.
