Hello,
I have just checked via Swiss Manager Pro the System Tab and then the RAM size of 2 of my P990's.
Well, 1 of them, the US one has: * 59 MB RAM and 5 MB ROM
whereas my Netherland one has: * 61 MB RAM and 3 MB ROM....

...so of course both phones have therefore different RAM available after a restart and perhaps THIS is the explanation we were looking for in regards WHY do people have different RAM at startup...etc.! Most likely this is widespread!

my question: HOW come ??? So, what is YOURS ? AND, anybody knows if this can be changed or if it automatically changes or.... whatever. I came to check this because I saw a picture about this in one of the forums. So I checked by phones and voila... another thing that is Different with Same Phone from SE.

Attention: Read on, it CAN be changed!!! Actually depending on the Firmware Pack / Organizer, you can change 59 to 61 wopping MB!!

I really can't remember if it's 2 or 5 MB.

Mine is 59 MB RAM and 5MB ROM. Not sure where it was bought but it was made in France in August 2006.

Are both your phones running the newest firmware with no branding? Mine has no branding and running the newest firmware. I wonder if the size of the firmware changes the size of the ROM. Since both your phones add up to 64MB just like ours.

The sum of RAM and ROM is always 64 MB. The actual values may depend on the firmware (organizer) and the hardware (DPY on the box) version of the phone. The amount of total RAM naturally impacts the achievable maximum free memory.

Mine is GW1, na branding, no locks, directly from SE cental in Sweden.
RAM total: 59 MB
ROM size: 5 MB

I`m using polish language - @jplacson, do you think that format internal memory from service menu will give more RAM and it will result in 61/3?
