Hello Everyone,

I'm just wondering if anyone else with a P1i is noticing a Green Tinting on the right hand side of the photos being taken. I started taking photos and noticed how the white balance was correct on the left side and then started getting greener on the right hand side. I was looking through the P1i pictures thread and saw this problem in some of the photos too. My theory is it might be a CMOS problem, but hopefully it's just a firmware processing issue. This is unlikely though since the LCD preview actually exhibits this too and since the LCD preview comes off of the CMOS it's likely the CMOS is defective.

Check this link for some examples: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=151820&start=60
Note that on below24's pictures if you notice the ground stones on the left side have the correct white balance vs the right hand side.

I've already contacted SE to see what they say, but in the mean time I want to get some confirmation here so that we can get SE to fix this whether it's hardware or software.

Gee! You're right!

I opened a blank page on my web browser on my mac and took a picture of the white screen with my P1i. Indeed, there is a greenish tint on the right side of the pic.

I hope they'll be able to fix this with the next software update.

I certainly hope it's something that can be fixed by the firmware. Though it seems it might just be a bad batch of CMOS. Any other P1i owners seeing this in their photo?

I've just tried looking at my white kitchen units and even without taking a photo you can see the green tinge on the viewfinder/screen. It is the bottom right hand portion of the screen. I was going to post a photo on here but because this green problem is visible on the viewfinder I would just say go and try it.
