hello all,
I am looking to get either a P1i or a W960, however i have one small concern.
How strong is the HD on the W960? Are they just as stong as a small mem card, or is it gonna die if i drop the phone a few times?
Secondly are the phones identical apart from the extra memory and 'W' branded features?
I know i am a noob, however i have searched and searched and cant find anything.
Cheers

The White Paper says its a solid state drive so imagine its flash memory like in the iPod Nano not a microdrive type hard drive.

The W960 uses flash memory (like iPod Nano) and not a small hard drive.
Thus it should be perfectly safe to drop from a 5 story building
Or at least immune to "normal" knocks and shocks.
Main differences between P1 and W960
P1 = 160Mbyte and W960 = 8 Gbyte
P1 = QWERTY keyboard and W960 = normal number keypad
P1 = Media Player for MP3. controlled via GUI. W960 = Walkman MP3 player (dedicated keys for play/pause, next track etc.).
P1 = Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) support. W960 = no memory stick support (but with 8Gbyte internal, does not really need it).
W960 promises "View videos in TV quality on the W960i display." which would suggest an enhanced display I assume (confirmation anyone ?).
Really same basic platform, two different target groups.
P1 = Business segment.
W960 = Phone + MP3/media player
Hope this helps,
/Mike B.
