First of all, I never had a problem syncing or connecting a phones, smartphones and palms to any PC/Mac through cable, irda, BT, etc in over 8 years and some 20 phones. Little hassle sometimes, but always found a workaround of some sort. Not this time.

Installed the SE PC suite for smartphones and the m-router thing already started pissing me off. Anyway the BT connection was working using toshiba BT (created BT com port, as for my K800), and triggering the m-router (for some reason couldn't get SE Pc suite to connect at launch as for k800). Since the procedure was quite annoying (turn bt on on the phone, then lauch SE pc suite, then clik Tools, then m-router config, then play with it till it connects and then wait for sync, thought maybe a fresh install could help. Bad idea.

Since then m-router never showed up again (tried at least 10 fresh install of PS suite), also downloaded and reistalled a copy of m-router found around the net. But never had it working again. Tried to connect phone via USB (device manager shows it) but nothing happens, Ps suite never finds the phone.

Tried google, and only one seems to have had similar problem, but the post doesn't provide any answer.

M-router copy in PC suite, won't install. M-router copy I found install but doesn't appear anywhere and doesn't work either.

What the heck is wrong with this (crappy) software??

any help appreciated

any alternative software to sync (tried restarting, cleaning cache, shutting down phone and pc several times)

Thanks

USING VISTA and pc suite latest build (1.3.22) and m-router latest build 3.1

I had the same problem last year when I upgraded my P910 to P990 and installed the newer version of PC Suite.

I contacted SE Support who were really helpful. The problem was that 2 copies of M-Router were installed; I was advised to uninstall PC Suite and delete the Intuwave directories in Program Files on the C: drive.

I also cleaned up the registry using RegVac (it's free, do a Google search).

I then re-installed PC Suite and all was fine.

I'm now running the latest version of PC Suite on my desktop, Vista, and my laptop, XP SP2.

ericl thanks a lot.

UPDATE

ok, cleaned the reg with suggested software and then again checked with FIND. No traces of Intuwave nor mrouter software.

But after a new fresh install, still no luck. M-router is not installed.

Any other suggestion?

Still no luck, tried again to clean everything (registry and temp files) and reinstall.

This is really annoying cause PC suite takes some good 20 minutes to install.

Could somebody please post the Intuwave folder contained in Program Files directory?

I'm trying to make m-router work without installation, cause installing SE PC suite doesn't install it (i cleaned every possible line of the registry with at least 3 cleaners, plus chache, temp file, etc) and installing m-router alone (there's an installer contained in PC suite directory) hangs all the times.

Having a P1i with no sync software is simply ridiculous.

Called SE service...they said that it should work with Vista...VERY HELFUL and right on the spot!

I have found that the PCSuite downloaded from the SE web site has some program modules missing. I suggest that you do a fresh install from the CD that came with your phone, then use the new PCSuite from the SE site to upgrade it.
I had this problem a while ago with my P990. Also check that the device manager shows 2 P990 items properly installed.
The m-router I found on the web is mRouter3Installer_v31042.exe.
I don't think there is a newer version as the company that made the m-router has gone bankrupt and no longer exists.
Good luck.

Ok, sorry for the annoyance, I fixed it.

actually I don't really know how. SE provides an mrouter setup files in the PC Suite folder. This file didn't want to install, but tracing its steps I realized that it stores some info in the Install Shield folder contained in Program Files directory (think it's used for installations errors). Deleting this file made the setup file work again (I mean it still hung, but the intuwave folder appeared and mrouter was working again).

Thanks for your patience.

@Makbil

thanks a lot

Bankrupt? with such a good software, I'd never guess...
