Hey all,
I have the following amp and speakers:
Arcam Alpha 9 amp
B&W 603 speakers.
Ive had them since uni so for a good 4-5 years now. when i switch channels (say from cd to tunner) - on the amp, i get a hell of a lot of interferrence/crackling... does anyone know what this might be and if its a easy fix..... would sooner get some info before i get butchered at my local seven oaks..... i wouold ideally like to keep both the amp and speakers..
any suggestions folks?
thx

no, that'll be a issue with the switch itself, contact Arcam and ask if they'd repair it or if its got a warranty....

hmmmm i would be very dissapointed if that is the case fatreg as it is simply a switch.... and if the whole thing goes tits up coz of a switch i wont spend that much again

I was worried it would be soemthing far far worse than the switch...
looks like i will just have to take it too a shop

would be a waste of a good amp, as most british made high end amps these days 'are' fairly serviceable...
have a google matey, there may be some enthusiasts that could repair if for a small sum.
the Alpha 9 is a good amp with VMOSFET power stages. and its got a hefty 400VA transformer. (equivilent to whats used in Cyrus power amps these days) i remember wanting one to go with my old B&W DM305's...
