I do i swicth between the wifi and gprs on the p1i, so that the phone will first look for a wifi spot and then if non use the gprs instead

When you set up the wifi account, the priority is always wifi if it is enabled. So, if your wlan is enabled on the P1i it will use that, if it is switched-off it will use GPRS.

control panel>connection>internet accounts then click the groups tab
then click on internet groups, then you will see a list of connections, but clicking one you can set a priority

i had also saw on this forum about going to
control panel>connection>internet accounts>more>options
and click on preferred mode and change this to CS only
what does this do?

.cs only will allow the phone to stay detached from gprs, and connect only when the phone asks. as opposed to auto, where the device is always looking for a gprs siginal. keeping in cs mode supposedly conserves energy, but i've personally not seen much differance.
