What the hell is Vodafone's problem these days!? The company seem to totally suck and have issues with releasing phones from SE!? First they have decided not to stock K810i and now they are delaying P1i (not sure if they will ever stock them)! Seriously, what the hell is wrong with Vodafone!? They are used to be kick butt mobile orepator and now they totally suck!
Rant out...

@student
They are a Buisness and out to make money with the high number of returns of the P990 and the fact they had to slash over £200 pounds off the W950 to try and move them. Maybe they have just lost a little confidence in SE or when they tested the P1 and found it still carried over some of the P990 bugs decided to wait. You can't realy blame for that though can you?

Do you by any chance work for them?
I do doubt very much that SE charges retailers upfront! The N95 is the most returned phone recently, I somehow don't see retailer pulling out all of the handsets of their stock just because they got burnt by one particular model. I am pretty sure I am not the only customer who is unhappy with it and I deciding whether to leave vodafone (I have been with them for over 7 years and was pretty happy). I can see quiet a few people doing the same, as the result the retailer will loose more by missing out on customers. Plus if a particular handset is buggy or has a defect no retailer pays for it and its the manufacturer who take the responsibility and the loss. We didn't see SE or Nokia stopping the manufacturing completely and moving on to producing car batteries or pens did we?
I say its very poor management and marketing strategies Vodafone chose... Very poor. Plus their tariffs totally suck! 100% The most inflexible and expensive today! An example Vodafone £35.00 tariff gives you nothing compare to O2, 3 of others!
I am reluctant to change operators, but I am given no choice! I wish someone had some brains in there to realise the potential impact of retailers current attitude!
What else I find totally ridiculous is that all other Vodafone companies (i.e. Germany, Spain etc) offer P1i to their customers. It only seems to be the UK division that is totally lame!

@student
No i most certainly don't work for them and only have a Voda Sim due to the fact it meant i got a N93 cheaper than buying it Sim free come December that contract ends and will not be renewed.
Only 02 have the P1 but there Data charges are even worse than Voda's as hard as that is to believe. No one forces you to stay with a Network just choose another that suits your needs best. Personally i am with T-Mobile as they have the best Data deals which is important to me and i buy my handsets Sim free.

the best data deal you can actually get for £5 per month is from "3"
they do Unlimited Internet *Fair useage policy 1GB per month..
T-Mobile are £7.50 per month for the same thing
is the P1i only exclusive to 02 you don;t have to tell me how there data is lol way to much

@Missuk
3 may be slightly cheaper but they seriously mess with branding on their phones and their customer support by all accounts is a nightmare. I am quite happy paying another £2.50pm to stay with T-mobile price isn't always everything. After all with Voda you only get 120mb for that and well 02 are just ridiculous as they want £3 for 2mb or £5 for 4mb.

I really hope we take the P1 on in retail stores soon as my P990 is slowly becoming dead!! For obvious reasons I don't want to move to another network as they almost definately won't be able to beat my staff price plan.
I think I'll speak to device management and see if I can get some kind of offical speech on the P1

Will keep you informed!
