Right a few months ago I bought a phone from phonebox direct. This is possibly the worst mistake I have made in 10 years.
It is a cashback sceme where you send off your monthly bills and recieve cash back. On the 4th month I sent in my 4th montly bill as requested. I then hear nothing from them for a few months other then its been recieved. I then get a letter telling me I sent in my 1st cashback too early (I sent in Junes Bill) But As I bought the phone in febuary it is my 4th month and 1st cash-back claim. But received a letter (friday the 17th august) telling me it is too early (this letter is dated 10th of July - almost 6 weeks ago). I then send them a email asking wtf and request they call me. This morning (20th august) they call me and tell me because I did not send the 4th bill in the time assigned in the letter I was not entitled to any cash back.
How the hell can they justify this? I sent the 4th monthly bill in, and although it did not have 120 days on it it is still the 4th montly bill, if I sent the 5th monthly bill in on the 4th month im sure they would tell me the same shit.
I am paying £35 a month for a contract which I can't even use in my house as I have no signal.
What can I do about this, I know the company is using their legal terms to ass rape me?

Tell they you're contacting Ofcom to file a complaint.
These cashback schemes have gained a bad reputation because of stories like this.

Call them back and ask to talk to a senior member of staff. Tell them that you have done what they say to do and if the cheque is not put in the post as promised then you will be seeking guidance from ofcom and trading standards.

happened to me THREE TIMES with onestopphoneshop.
SO I loathe them with a passion.
In one occassion, they claimed they sent the cheque and it was CASHED!

You might have made the mistake I did, the fact that the 4th bill you get isnt your 4th month. Its the 5th one you need to send in.
as for your problem, its probably in their T&C's so I very much doubt you can make a claim...

they specifically asked for the 4th bill whcih I gave them, if they asked for the one with 120 days on I would have given them that one. The letter they sent arrived almost 6 weeks later past the date given so it did f**k all good anyway.
