Hi all,
is P1i considered as P-series mobile or not? and if yes why they remove the flip? and why they released it very early before completing one year between it and P990???

hi its officialy a p-series phone but a lot of people dont consider it as one because it has no flip, im sure there will be a release of a new p-series phone with a flip in the future. imo its a mix between m600i and p990i but i has p-series quality.

The E61i is an E61 with a camera. (Look closely and you'll see more differences.)

Oh? We're talking about the P1? Sorry! Let me change drastic changes to the above sentence:

The P1 is an M600 with a camera. (Look closely and you'll see more differences.)

I think the only one difference between P990 and P1i is the flip, but if u compare P1i and M600, there are alot of differences

Exactly!!

To be honest IMO if where going to bring out an M610 they'd have done it by now!

The P1 is a replacement for the M600 much the same as the E61i replaces the E61. It just appears has restructured and dropped the "M" series as it was suggested would be dropping a couple of "series" this year!

The P990's true successor will be announced in due time!

(just my opinion)

Why did they release the P1i less than a year after the P990i?

To screw up those of us who invested $500 bucks in the P990i so that at this point in time we would not be able to resell and recoup some money towards the P1. Also, so that they would not have to release too many firmware updates for a phone that they released too early with not enough RAM and a few too many bugs.
Plain and simple!

Do they want to encourage die hard fans like me to switch to the N95,I am beginning to think so but I love my P's too much.

The flip is going to come back, soon.

Hi all,

Oh come on now if SE say it is a P Series surely it has to be, I mean SE must know what they are talking about mustn't they? much as if they say it's the P990 successor that has to be true as well. I mean SE wouldn't lie to you now would they? and that is exactly what they said it was when they announced it. It doesn't really matter what some of you feel or think in that respect it has to be what SE say it is.

Marc

when they realise they couldnt do much to save their flagship p990, se must have done something to cover up. hence, here it comes the p1i, supposedly the m600 likely successor

careful Marc you're nearly sticking up for there!

Like you say it is what say it is!

But IMO it would have been far easier for them to release an M610i to replace the M600i with implemented WiFi and no camera!

Did they release the P1i to quickly replace the P990i due to it's bugs and shortfall's with another equally buggy phone?

I just hope do get around to releasing a true successor to the P990 soon!

PS: I'm still using my P990 and have never had a problem with it!
