Remember Magic Profiles on the UIQ2? Is anything similar on the horizon for UIQ3.x? I'm quite irritated at the lack of such a facility on my P990.

Lisa@CPS - is this something you guys could consider developing? There must surely be a large demand for such an app....?

A profile manager app for UIQ3 is rather unlikely to be ever written by any 3rd-party, because most required system functions are undocumented. SE could write it easily - no idea why they don't.

Yeah and on the other hand, SE could write so many things easily and they just don't. Unbelievable!

By the way, any news when the SMP 1.60 will be available?

I only ever use silent if I change profiles and there is a shortcut to do this.

Hold down the # key, if it's anything like the M600 (which it is).

Well, you could try to use Advanced Call Manager, depending on what exactly you are looking to change within the profiles. If it is related to calls, diverting and such, it can do this for you based on a time schedule or location (using your networks Cell IDs). It is not as fancy or advanced in my opinion, as some of the applications available for UIQ2, such as Magic Profiles Pro which I dearly miss!

Excuse my ignorance but....

System functions for such basic operations as 'switch to vibrate' and 'switch to silent' etc are undocumented??? That's ridiculous! Another reason why I'm ditching SE asap....

And Geezay, thanks for the suggestion but I'm after something that can switch between silent/loud/vibrate/ascending etc rapidly... ie without having to open the flip and go into Control Panel....

Ya, I miss the profile switching found on the older phones.

I'd be happy with an auto-silent mode on the P-series (something that gives the option for auto-silent for the duration of the appointment event)

That would be nice for meetings, movies, etc.
