Hi all,

I really cannot make a decision here and after looking at a series of both iPods and the new Sony player i really cannot decide which to get.

The plus for the Sony is it is really very small and quite a nice looking device the plus for the daddy of all Ipods is the huge amount of storage plus the ease of getting Podcasts all of my Music collection and now even Films and video's and this new generation 5.5 as they like to call really isn't that big or heavy IMO. The only real difference is about £80-£100 but as that gets me 80gb's of storage i consider it worth the money. Only other thing is i can choose from a great range of Vaja cases for about $70 or a case for the Sony @£30 that's pretty boring and average.

All suggestions welcome but more than Sony rocks Apple stinks type comments please.

dogmann, im getting the ipod, since it has so much space. i plan to use it as a harddisk for my laptop when im on the run , appart from packing it with as many songs as i can haha.

Many thanks for your answers after this post i actually made it to Brent Cross where to my surprise their is now an Apple Store. I have decided to get the ipod as was really impressed at just how sleek this device is also the new improved screens are excellent IMO it is not only slightly larger but much sharper than the Sony. Which although nice has no where as much storage and felt as though it may snap if i sneezed on it. i now also understand all the fuss about the click wheel and the whole user interface on the ipod although this will be my first Apple product i really am very impressed with it.

I noticed the Apple store was selling a lot of the JBL speakers systems mainly the creature and a couple of other which has prompted me to get my JBL invader 4.1 system out of the garage and set it up as it should produce some amazeing results. Now all i have to do is decide which Vaja case style to go for as for once their cases actually seem like very good value compared to the ones i saw in store the Proporta case although IMO the best was just short of £30 and the VAJA cases i have to decide between with belt clip works at approx $70 which at today's exchange rate is only slightly more for IMO not only a much nicer looking case but better quality. actually it cost me $88 delivered and can't wait for it to arrive along with my 80gb iPod that really is a hell of a lot of storage IMO.

As yet i don't have any other Apple products but now Itunes works just as well on windows.
