OK, I know it's not an SE, but I managed to get a fully working Motorola V3x for a tenner! However, it's locked to the 3 network, and am looking to get it unlocked. This could be a question for Brightspark if he's around!

Now, I've managed to debrand the phone using RSDLite 2.4, but it didn't unlock it. I've got a Motorola V3 unlocker program but it doesn't work with the V3x (doesn't detect the phone properly I think).

Has anyone got an unlocking program they could send me or unlock the phone remotely for me (I've heard it's possible), I can give them a few quid if they want

Or can you point me in the right direction for where I can get it unlocked, perferably for free but if all else fails I don't mind paying a little bit.

Mid-afternoon bump from work

I found and downloaded an unlocker (can't remember it's name, it's 'bit' something or other) but it's in Italian, and when I connected my V3x it says something about 'Testpoint', even when I connect it in flash mode.

Yes, V3X requires test point unlock......

TP usually require a powered service cable, or other power source(usually between 1.5-3V) to be connected to them, to do the unlock job......

I was afraid you'd say that!

I've seen a lot of people advertising remote solutions for unlocking these phones on Ebay, and when you put in another networks' sim it asks for a subsidy code, so I could do with a programme that generates these codes off the IMEI, I'm sure they exist somewhere!

They do indeed, but I'm sure you're also sure(!), as well as existing, they attract premiums......

Try speaking to Brightspark, the M-R member who's also a Moto modder! If anyone would know of the whereabouts of a remote solution, I'd think he would!

I've already PM'd BrightSpark as I know he's a Moto nut, he's given me a couple of good leads I might follow up later when I get back from work!
