AFAIK, only Nokia's Symbian devices, and a very small list of Windows Mobile devices (Gigabyte's g-smart models) can do this. Looks to me that you bought the wrong phone.

I did the same mistake with my P990i and my shortlist for the next upgrade at the end of this year will [sarcasm]unfortunately[/sarcasm] not include an UIQ3 device.

There is a 3rd party app for almost ALL WM6 Smartphone & Professional devices to record but its a local app that saves locally & also via internet connection to a host (Company Publisher that created the app) site to save the file.

Somebody must be coding an app to record phone calls on UIQ3 - I believe the Motorola Z8 has such an app - should be portable if it exists.

. . .

Do you know the name of this app? Does it depend on the microphone for recording phone calls? I.e. do you need to keep the phone in speaker mode to be able to record the other party?

SICK AND TIRED...

why dont you people use search... this question has been asked more than 100 times .. what are you people upto?

Please think twice when you come out with a new topic ... people are not free to answer the same questions everytime and then !! help is surely guaranteed but not this way !!

Cheers !!

Chill out dude! What's up with the hostility? The title of the thread is clear, don't read it if you don't like the topic or let Admins/Moderators deal with it.

Anyway, back on subject, I don't think there's anything to record calls on the P1i. I'd love one as well.

Hi all,

From previous answers given in the other threads although SE allow you to do this with it's other devices it has disabled the possibility of someone writing such an app for UIQ3 as it can't access the necessary areas of the firmware to do so. So quick answer is NO and it won't be possible either apparently.

To add to Marc's point - Webgate, the makers of Advanced Call Manager, when I E-mailed them last year to ask why UIQ device have no answerphone function(which relies on call recording, obviously), told me that the HARDWARE(as well as software) was not present in SEs UIQ devices to allow the function!
Which makes SE/UIQ about the only smartphone OS which cannot perform such a basic function to this day......
