It's about time for another of my little projects! For those who haven't seen me do this before it where basically I attempt to turn one older, cheaper phone into a nice new one, by buying a damaged/cheap one, then repairing it, selling it for a profit and getting a slightly better but slightly faulty phone, and so on and so fourth.

I've done this twice before, the first time turning a T68i I bought for £5 into a £140 XDA IIS (which I actually still have!), and the second time I had to stop halfway through due to a lack of funds, but had made progress from my start phone.

Hopefully I'll stay the distance this time, and will reach my goal of a Sony Ericsson T650i or equivalent, from past experience it should hopefully only take 2-3 months to get there.

My start phone this time is a Sony Ericsson K750i, which I bought and replaced a cracked LCD screen in. I bought it for £24.05 inc. del, the screen came out of a dead phone, can't remember what I paid for it so for reference I'll say the screen was £10, meaning I'm starting with £34.05, let's see if I can turn that into a £300 phone!

For reference, here's the previous 'experiment' threads:
The Great T68i to W800i or I-Mate JAM experiment!

The great T630 to P990i/W950i Experiment 2!

Oooooh, the T650i is already coming down in price so you should have one sooner than you think.

Good luck with your latest endeavour

lol, don't think even I could do that Jojo!

@goldenface - that's what I'm hoping, by the time I'm up at the price range for a T650i they should have dropped nicely in price!

Just wondering whether to chuck in a 1Gb mem stick Pro that I have spare with the K750i or not, if I did it would take my start price up to £40, hopefully I'd make a profit on that!

1GB extra storage certainly makes a difference. How much is a 750i going for these days £50 - £70

I'll get the phone listed soon as well, maybe today if I have time.

Though just thought of another problem - the K750i doesn't have a battery! I'm currently using a slightly underpowered one out of a dead K510i in it, so I'd have to shell out for another battery, so I might have to change my starter phone.

I have a couple of other candidates, I've got a Motorola V3x that I managed to get for £10, fully working! It's locked to 3 but I've managed to debrand the phone, just trying to get it unlocked at the moment. Should be plenty of profit in that! Also got a couple of Samsung D500s, but they are a bit too tatty I think.

Oh yes, also got a 6230i! That might make a good starter phone too, though got that as part of a deal and paid about £40 for it, so not much profit there.
