Hello,
Got two M2 4GB cards or my wife (Z550) and I (K800) and both phones seem to have trouble with the mass of information on the cards.
Of course both phones react very slow because listing something like 900 (MP3's in the Z550) to 1300 (M4A's in the K800) song takes time but strange things happen while playing music in the media player.
Besides regular hanging of the phone (maybe I'm not patient enough), the most frustrating is that while shuffling in the complete list, the phone seems to forget songs.
The limit was yesterday when I listened to my K800, I got the same song almost every time and when I looked I saw that the phone was shuffling among 10 songs instead of the ~1300 initially...
I guessed it might be my M4A format that the K800 didn't like but this morning my wife complained about the same thing with her Z550 coded MP3.
Tested my M2 card in he "old" K750 and there everything (1300 songs in M4A format) seems to function without a problem...
Any of you noticed the same thing? (Both phones have the latest FW)
Thanks in advance for any tip.

The K800 shouldn't do that imo... But after all, it might be an old firmware you are using. Check your firmware on the phone.

Hi,
As I said in my post, both have the latest firmware so that shouldn't be the cause..

What about the card? Is it genuine one and did you tried formatting it before putting all that amount of m4as on it?

Yes, they're a genuine Sandisk cards (specially for SE phones it said on the blister) but I let the phones format them, not a card reader.

Well it may not be the case but make sure the phone EROM is up to date as well. At least to R3A016. Maybe need even newer firmware as R1KG is released before M2 4GB is out.
I don't think M2 size will confuse the phone. Maybe a trip to SE service centre will help (and force them to release yet another firmware for K800).

Thanks for your reactions.
The EROM is R3A016 and the FW the R1KG001, Pack is Europe_3 so I guess it's the "best" there is... (could be an advertisement slogan
)

Actually newest EROM is R3A022 (newer phone come with this directly from SE) but no one will update it for us. even SE authorised service centre deny that it can update EROM.
Well I think a trip to SE service centre is definetely required. Sometime they only believe a problem when they are seeing one in front of their nose.

Yeah this is happening in the electronic industry all the time. Older product can not use newer accessories well since their firmware is not up to it. Well I think if many ppl is asking SE to fix it then it may help. I think K800 need at least R6BC firmware to make it work with 4GB.
I don't think this is hardware limitation related since 4GB is well still within 32bit limit and can be fixed by firmware easily. But the problem is whether SE feel it necessary to fix it.
