As the title suggests....i need some serious help here

do i just pick a company and go?

i will need a decent connection with unlimited bandwith (heavy downloaders in my house - gotta keep up woth heros and prison break ) so i was thinking BT's unlimited package. I guess i need to rent a line from BT aswell, so its gonna be something like £34 a month? (24 broadband cost + 10 line rental?)

Anyone see anything i've missed? it comes with a router, the others will sort out cables or wireless or whatever.

EEK. it is scary moving out properly.

yeah good luck with moving out. bt's cheapest line rental is £10.99 a month.

then just add broadband. shop around, loads are giving away free wireless routers as you'll be getting into a 12 month contract....

try uswitch

ty mate,

looking at this page there is this bit at the bottom

***Price excludes monthly line rental

now as none of the prices have *** does this mean that that price includes the 10.99 line rental or whatever?

I went with that unlimited BT offer and it comes with a skype type phone too on which you get a local phone number.

Had no problems at all and although it comes preconfigured with SSID and WEP key you can get into the advanced settings and change these yourself, including making the SSID non broadcasting

I used to be with Demon until last October and they were good too. Just don't touch AOL. most providers have all the info you need to get you going easily and quickly.

I just logged onto to BT to confirm but as its a quarterly bill I haven't had my first one yet but I'm sure its as you already mentioned.

I did get a discount for the first 6 months which seems to be the offer that is still going.

my parents have talk talk at home, it sucks! it cuts out at 11.45 every night untill the morning and at peak times it goes at a snails pace. no good for xbox games or video streaming.

looks like i will have to get onto bt to activate a line.

I presume the house that you are moving to already has a phone line. BT will charge to install a phone line is not already there or there is one insatlled by another company.
Talk to BT and see what they say.
