Test on pre-commercial Java ME phones

The new Virtual Lab on-line service gives registered Sony Ericsson Developer World Community Members early access to pre-commercial, Sony Ericsson 2007 phones for real-time testing of Java ME apps and games. Virtual Lab offers real phones connected to live networks, 24/7 and launches with both Java Platform 8 (JP-8) - the W910 Walkman phone - and Java Platform 7 (JP-7) phones - W580, W880, K550, K810 and T650 - with more phones being added as soon as possible after Sony Ericsson's official press announcements.




Updated Java ME SDK introduces MSA support, version 2.5.0

The latest Sony Ericsson SDK for the Java ME Platform, version 2.5.0, supports Sony Ericsson's Java Platform 8 (JP-8) phones which include MSA (JSR 248), improved on-device debugging through new phone connectivity and the addition of Chinese fonts.



K770: revealing the new 3G, Cyber-shot, Java Platform 7 (JP-7) phone

The new K770 is a discreetly styled Cyber-shot mobile phone featuring a 3.2 Megapixel camera, innovative camera applications and is the 18th phone to support Sony Ericsson's Java Platform 7 (JP-7). It has the full range of mobile entertainment and business features including a video telephony, Memory Stick Micro removable storage, video streaming, HTML browser, RSS feed support, 3D gaming and impressive music and video players.



Making mobile mapping services using SVG Tiny

Building on our getting started tutorial for SVG Tiny, the new "Using web services for generating SVG Tiny maps" tutorial describes how to convert and optimize online map server content for display on SVG viewers on Sony Ericsson UIQ 3-based mobile phones.
