Hi,
The camera button on the right of the phone turns on the camera anytime it is pressed, when i am in the messaging environment. This is particularly irritatin when I am writing text messages since the top of my hand accidently presses the button, and the camera is activated (and asks me to move open the lens cover). so i have to press the back button to go back to the message i was composing. is there anyway to deactive this.
Also, probably an extremely dumb question, but can you explain what you are refering to when you mention "activity buttons"?

you cam button seems to be very loosen. i have no idea on how to deactivate this.
activity button: this pops up a menu with
bookmarks,
shortcuts and the running application/game/radio/media player,
rss feeds, etc.

Welcome Andre,
When writing a text the camera button is deactivated, and the camera app shouldn't start. Try A SEUS up date, use this link to download SEUS.

I hope this fixes your bug,

Hi there,
Thanks for the help so far. I ran the update, and the camera can still be activated wheni am in the messaging environment!
Any other ideas?

well, the camera button on my k800 starts the camera app when it is pressed only under main menus, not else where including "writing a new message"...
it shouldn't happen, which firmware have you updated your phone to?

HI,
I followed the link above, and then followed the instructions.
When I got to the update page, it said "Phone is already updated" so I clicked on "continue anyway".
I assume its the latest?

My phone is Vodafone branded.
Strange thing is I don't have "update version" in my list in settings.
Is there anywhere I can see which version i have?

my k810 does this in the main menu, in the organizer sub-menu, in the messaging sub-menu but not when writing a message itself...if you want to see your FW version follow these steps....
form standby press

*
* (where represent left and right on the joystick respectively)
then go to service info...software info... and your FW no. should be the top one

Nice one.
At the top of software info, it says "R1ED001".
right at the bottom, it says
"Update service SW
UA version:
CRH1069179 R3B021
2006-12-18 15:59"
Does this mean i have the wrong update?
