I have lists of dialled/received/missed call numbers that I wish to delete but can't seem to figure out how to do it...

if you click 'calls' on the standby screen, it'll take you to call log.
just click more -> edit -> delete entry/delete all entries/etc

Ah, thanks. I didn't think it would be under 'edit' - after all I didn't want to edit them, I wanted to delete them!

sunking101;
i don't want to be rude, but your P1 came with a manual.
which is a thick book with all basic questions and solutions explained.
since you've started 4 topics with basic issues which are resolved in manual

I'm a Nokia man, SE 'ways' aren't obvious to me and I'm quite a tecchie. I wouldn't have thought that 'editing' meant 'deleting'. Still, if it's in the manual that's some help. Shame my manual is 4000 miles away at home though. I thought this forum was supposed to be a help? If everyone is just referred to their user manuals, why bother?

yes you want to "edit" the call registry by "deleting" stuff makes perfect sense to me...

Not at all. In all the other menus, delete is a separate option by itself, along with edit. When you edit something you change it in someway, you don't destroy it.

lol i'm in a semantics mood...

know one is destroying anything.. you are removing a number from the call registry.. that is editing the call registry and not destroying it...

like the word "apples" edit by deleting the s to make "apple"

lol

Why is there a separate delete option alongside edit in all the other menus then?? No consistency. Also, deleting is NOT editing. When you edit something you amend or somehow alter it, you don't destroy it. Deleting IS destroying, no editing involved at all.
