im confused... so is that a 6month contract with 6months free? or is it a 12month contract with 6 months free? (meaning you will have to pay the £15 for the final 6 months?)

Its 6 months contract (no phone) with 6 months free line rental. You do have to claim for cheque back though.

Yup, just took out one of these Virgin 6 month contracts.
You only send your 4th bill to the respective Carphone Warehouse department, mentioned in the offer on their site, and they'll then send you a one-off cheque for the £90, ie. £15 x 6months.

Its exactly as jcwhite_uk said. 6 month contract with no phone, and you send 1 cheque back, and it works out free.
A great bargain.
