Hi, im in the us and updated to the latest firmware for the sony erriccson p990i. It is the north America version that was released on august 1st. After i updated the firmware i noticed that a few buttons weren't working such as the

top left button on the flip part of the phone where you click for yes or press for the last calls made
up button on the 4 way pad
left button on the 4 way pad
# 123 and middle button on the 4 way pad.

Any suggestions for this issue would be greatly appreciated

Thnx in advance

Hi, your update may have not gone as well as you thought. I would do a re-flash just to be absolutely certain that the problem is caused by the firmware and not the hardware/keypad. None of the updates since its inception produced such behaviour mentioned. As problems may re-occur when you restore backups using the pc suite, i suggest you should rather synchronize your data before and after the re-flash instead

you should do a reflash and before you should take the flip off and reseat it back! Perhaps that could solve it

Does it affect the buttons on the flip when updating in no flip?. Because i did update my handset regardless of the flip.

Hi!

My flip also started to make trouble. I checked with another P990 (the other guy tried my flip) and found out that it was my flip that had some problems. I sent it to service and got it back in pristine order....I think.....I haven't tried it yet. By the time(three weeks) I got it back i got used to the phone without flip and have never looked back.

Actually I don't think this should affect the phone if you flash with or without the flip attached. HOWEVER, I suggested to take it off and back on again BEFORE flashing! I personally would never flash without the flip

I see, thanks.

Anyway after updating my handset regardless of the flip. I've then test it myself if the flip still work as it should be. And it did, no single problem indeed.
